Work crews balanced nearly 150 feet in the air this week to repair insulators on a tower carrying electricity from Tyee’s hydroelectric power plant to the City and Borough of Wrangell and the City of Petersburg. According to police and power company officials, the insulators were damaged after someone shot them with rifles near the backchannel near Wrangell.
