Each borough employee represented by PMEA will get a 2 percent wage increase to Step C, the base salary. Employees move up a step every few years and are given an automatic hourly raise. The agreement says each employee will receive the Step C base salary, plus whatever letter increase he or she falls under. Per the agreement, which has yet to be approved by the union, those in Step D (years 4-5) are given the same 2 percent wage increase as Step C, plus 50 cents per hour. Those in Step E (years 6-7) receive the Step C 2 percent wage increase, plus 75 cents per hour. Those in Step F (years 8-10) receive the Step C 2 percent wage increase, plus $1.00 per hour. Those in Step G (10-plus years) receive the Step C 2 percent wage increase, plus $1.25 per hour.
