Gizmos & Gadgets take to the water

Orin Pierson

This rover (remotely operated vehicle) was built in Russ Wallace’s middle school exploratory class, Gizmos and Gadgets. It features PVC ballasts, remote control in four directions with up to depths or distance of 60 feet, a mounted light and camera — which transmits video to a connected battery operated monitor. The class brought their rovers down to North Harbor for their first sea explorations last week. Dillon Duddles mans the remote while Nathaniel Lenhard releases their gadget into the dark winter waters.
