Jan. 4: A caller reported youths jogging in dark clothing and no reflective gear.

Fish and Game was notified of a deer with a broken leg on S. Nordic Drive.

A caller reported a 5-gallon jerry jug on Haugen Drive that was leaking fuel.

A caller said they were nearly hit in a crosswalk on N. Nordic Drive.

An iPhone was turned into the PPD.

Jan. 5: Suspicious activity was reported at the post office.

Three consecutive reports of suspicious persons were reported on Haugen Drive, Nordic and Lumber streets and S. Nordic Drive within the hour.

A citation was issued to Cherilynn Flor, 29 for failure to stop at a stop sign.

A minor vehicle accident was reported on S. Second Street.

A summons was served to Garret S. Lewis, 45. According to Officer Heidi Agner, Lewis was charged with reckless driving, no proof of insurance and expired registration following an investigation of an accident occurring on Jan. 3. Garret struck a man crossing the street at Nordic and Gjoa, on crutches, according to police.

Suspicious activity was reported on Dock Street.

A citation was issued to Kory Birchell, 20 for license plate violation.

Jan. 6: Multiple callers reported an individual at the intersection of Nordic and Haugen Drives attempting to direct traffic.

Public Works was notified that grasping the sidewalk handrail at 1st and Fram streets was blocked by a sign.

Jan. 7: A caller reported a backed up sewage problem at Magill’s Trailer Park.

Jan. 8: A caller reported being threatened by an individual.

A fallen tree was reported on a power line on Sandy Beach Road.

Two noise complaints were received from Towne Trailer Park.

Sex offender papers were filed with the PPD.

Jan. 9: A motor scooter was reported stolen from N. 1st. Street.

Loud music was reported from a Baranof Street residence.

Officers arrested Kate Einerson, 29 and Levi Newman, 23 on a charge of felony theft.

A Towne Trailer Court resident reported he hadn’t seen his son for three days.

Yolanda Perez-Orozco, 43, checked in to serve time.

Jan. 10: A stolen vehicle was reported on Mitkof Highway. Police discovered the vehicle had been taken to the shop.

An attempted burglary was reported on S. Second St.

Officers spoke with a reckless driver who almost hit a pedestrian on N. Nordic.

Police issued 4 burn permits, made 2 EMS callouts and handled 2 canine complaints during this report period.
