February 10, 1982: A new public safety building may be in the offering in the next few years if the hopes of local emergency services workers take seed.

The City Council voted unanimously Feb. 1 to have the city send out requests for proposals for a public safety building which would, if constructed, house the fire department, police department, jail and emergency medical technicians’ office.
