February 10, 1982: A new public safety building may be in the offering in the next few years if the hopes of local emergency services workers take seed.

The City Council voted unanimously Feb. 1 to have the city send out requests for proposals for a public safety building which would, if constructed, house the fire department, police department, jail and emergency medical technicians’ office. The building is still in the tentative stages with no source of funding yet determined, although City Planner Rick Braun suggested that the city press for a special appropriation from the state during the...
