March 26

Martin Baker was arraigned in Trial Court on charges of assault, a fourth degree misdemeanor. Baker was released on his own recognizance. A hearing date is set for April 17.

March 29

Russ A. Johnston was arraigned in Trial Court on charges of criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor. Johnston entered a plea of no contest. Accepting the plea Magistrate Desi Burrell ordered Johnston to 20 days in jail, with 20 days suspended, a fine of $500, with $350 suspended and other fees totally $100. Johnston was also ordered to one year probation, to have no further violations of the law, and to write an apology letter to the victim.

April 3

Timothy M. Volpi, Jr. was charged in District Court with criminal mischief, a 3rd degree felony during a first appearance in front of the court. The court appointed a public defender. Volpi was released on a $250 performance bond and was ordered to stay away from alcohol and bars, have no contact with alleged victims and witnesses, and to stay away from the Narrows Inn. A hearing has been set for April 23.

April 4

Ben Gross was arraigned in District Court on charges of fishing undersized tanner crab. Gross entered a plea of not-guilty. A hearing date has been set for April 25.
