Cold water a possible factor with low fish return

 

Crystal Lake Hatchery Manager Loren Thompson describes the new heat transfer system for the hatchery. This system heats the ambient water to a more comfortable temperature for the growing King Salmon.

The Crystal Lake Hatchery began operation in Petersburg in 1973 and is one of the oldest operating hatcheries in southeast Alaska.
