Win the new iPad in the library’s Amazing Rainforest Race. The deadline for entries is Saturday August 11 at 5pm. Complete each leg of the race and your name will be entered into the iPad drawing on August 13.  Clues are at the library or online at psglib.org.  

Teen Reading Raffle - enter at psglib.org or at the library to win great prizes. Grand prize is a Kindle Fire - drawing is on August 7.

Summer Reading Challenge Final Event – Ice cream party - Friday August 3rd at 1:30. Ice cream sundaes and prizes for all of our summer readers. To be eligible for a prize raffle tickets must be received by noon on Friday August 3rd.

Paint Exotic Beetles - Tuesday August 7th, 10 - 11:30 am. Open to teens 6th - 12th grade. Call 772-3349 to register. Instructor: Doris Olsen. Create colorful, shimmery exotic beetles. Learn how to push and pull the medium of acrylics to create and amazing work of art. No experience is necessary and supplies are provided.

Listen to your dog - Tuesday August 7, 6:30 pm. Join certified professional dog trainer Vickie L. Buchholz and learn more about how to listen to and understand your dog. Dogs do not speak English or any verbal language.  Understanding how they do communicate, at various skill levels, with one another and with us humans, will help us build a stronger relationship with our dogs. Presented by the Petersburg Humane Association.

Kid’s Paint...Dragonflies - Friday August 10th at 1:30 - 3:00 pm. Open to kids 8 and up. Call the library at 772-3349 to register. Instructor: Doris Olsen.

Campfire Stories - Friday Aug 10, 8 pm. Sandy Beach Park Shelter. Prepare to be scared. Come huddle with friends and family around the campfire to tell scary tales that will make you afraid of the dark all over again. Gaze into the fire, listen and share stories, eat s’mores and have a hair raising time.  Parents: This event is open to all, but stories may be too scary for little ones.
