Cross Country has first race in Sitka

 


The Petersburg men's and women's cross-country teams put their running shoes to the road in Sitka for the first meet of the season Friday, Aug. 24. The women placed seventh overall out of nine teams beating Craig and Sitka and the men placed last in 10th place.

The Vikings took four boys and three girls to Totem Park.

“Sitka is a great introductory race,” Head Coach Jo Ann Day stated. “It was a smaller field of about 40 girls and 75 boys and Sitka has a fast course.”

Day explained that this was the first race for five out of the seven runners.
