Petersburg brings home big awards at SE State Fair
The 2012 Southeast Alaska State Fair had another year of success for local artist from Petersburg.
This year's winners in Petersburg are as follows:
Margaret Newlun earned a Best of Class and First Place for her Rhubarb Wine, Second Place for Tatted Necklace; Second Place for Beaded Necklace “The Curl”; Best of Class and First Place for Raven's Tail pendant and First Place for Pride of the South doll collection.
VickiLee McIntosh won Best of Class; First Place and Third Place for her Berry Wine.
Bev Siercks won Second Place for her Blueberry & Rasberry Wine and Second Place for her Rhubard and Rasberry Wine.
Katy Gilpin earned a First Place for her Lace Shawl.
Rose Quitslund was awarded Division Champion, Best of Class and First Place for a sea shine dress/purse and shell and Second Place for a jungle cat dress.
Josef Quitslund earned a Department Champion, Division Champion, Best of Class and First Place for Quoth the Raven; First Place for Recycled Idea and a First Place for Haley Marie's fish tunnel.
Neil Newlun was awarded Department Champion, Division Champion, Best of Class and First Place Best of Class and First Place for Fish Hook.
Diane Murph won a First Place for Half Hitch Crochet Rug; First Place for papercraft quilting and Second Place for duct tape purse.
Leesa Murph earned a First Place for T-shirt crochet rug and a Best of Class and First Place for “On the Docks”.
Jenny Cowan won First Place for Balm of Gilead Salve.
Maia Cowan earned a First Place for glass pearl stone necklace.
Mandy Kivisto was awarded Best of Class and First Place for Pepper; First Place for Daily Bugle and First Place for Brylea.
Jean Curry won First Place for Drapery.
