The Petersburg Viking volleyball team played host to Sitka and the varsity girls shut out all games this past weekend.

The Vikings team consists of 14 freshmen, one junior and 10 seniors.

Viking varsity girls swept the Wolves 27-25, 25-17 and 25-23 Saturday and 25-15, 25-14 and 25-20 Monday.

“The varsity team performed with great enthusiasm and confidence,” Head Coach and Petersburg Athletic Director Jaime Cabral said.

The junior varsity competed well against the much older Sitka JV team falling to the Wolves 25-12, 25-16 and 25-11 Saturday and 25-18, 25-17 and 25-11Monday.

“The JV team showed great effort and learned a lot from the weekend,” Cabral said.
