Silva and Wagemaker wed
Maria Flora Sarah Silva and Brandon Michael Wagemaker were married on August 11, 2012 at 5:00 p.m., at the Petersburg Lutheran Church with Pastor Mike Schwarte officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Lewie and the late Maybelle Silva of Petersburg. The groom’s parents are Wendy and Rick Wagemaker of Victoria, B.C. Canada.
The flower girl was Rosebelle Silva and the ring bearer was Analia Perry.
The ushers were Gene Bernaldo and Doug Whittlesey.
The bridesmaids were Marylene Silva of Juneau, Alaska, Michaela Silva of Juneau, Stephanie Lucas of Petersburg, Christen Brinkmoellar of Chandler, Ariz., and Charlotte Perry of Juneau.
The best man was Louie Silva Jr. of Petersburg.
The bride’s grandmother, Virginia Mata, also took part in the wedding ceremony lighting the candle with the groom’s mother, which would soon be used to unite the families.
The bride was escorted down the aisle and given away by her father Lewie Silva Sr.
The bride’s gown was a white sweetheart cut gown with Swarovski crystals throughout and beading.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Sons of Norway Hall which was catered by Liv & Heidi’s Kjokken, and music was provided by Dj Lou Dogg.
The bride graduated from the University of Alaska Southeast in 2008 with a BBA with an emphasis in management. The groom graduated from high school in 2006 and attended Camosun College in Victoria, B.C., Canada and took welding courses.
Some of the groom’s family from Victoria BC, Canada attended the wedding including his mother and father, his auntie’s Karen Cameron and Janice Lee, his grandma Anne Wagemaker, and his brother Travis Wagemaker.
The couple will honeymoon at a later date and will reside in Petersburg.
