Election for a Petersburg Borough has been officially set for Dec. 18.

This election will be conducted by mail and is under the administration and supervision of the Director of Elections.

According to Division of Elections Director Gail Fenumiai, ballots will be mailed to all qualified voters and anyone who is registered to vote within the proposed boundaries of the new borough at least since Aug. 22, 2012.

“Ballots will be sent Nov. 26,” Fenumiai said. “They must be received by the Division of Elections postmarked by Dec. 18.”
