Petersburg Police Chief Jim Agner, Sgt. Heidi Agner and Investigator Kalin Rosse received a letter of appreciation from the United States Postal Inspection Service Inspector in Charge Brad Kleinknecht for their participation in “Operation Last Frontier.”

“This operation was the largest multi-agency narcotics interdiction in the history of the Seattle Division,” Kleinknecht stated. “Your individual efforts contributed to the overall success of the operation.”

Overall, the interdiction, which took place between July 9 to 14, resulted in 22,723 parcels profiled; 696 parcels identified for further attention; 555 parcels for canine examination; 19 federal search warrants; 25 parcels opened with consent; 12 parcels containing narcotics; two controlled deliveries and two arrests. There were also 12.5 pounds of marijuana; 2.5 grams of cocaine; 196.5 pills of oxycontin/oxycodone and 136 grams of heroin seized during this interdiction.

“I really appreciate your assistance in this operation,” Kleinknecht stated. “The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is committed to investigating illegal narcotics transported through the U.S. Mail in order to protect postal service employees and the communities they serve.”
