Joe Viechnicki displayed more than a dozen oil paintings at Miele Gallery’s First Friday show last Friday evening. Viechnicki’s style continues to evolve as he produces landscapes depicting scenes familiar to many. New pieces at this showing included Shakes Glacier and a shoreline scene on the Stikine River.
Another smaller canvas depicted two ghostly steelhead swimming through silt-laden water.
Big and bold continue to describe Viechnicki’s landscapes reproduced on large canvases with broad, thick brushstrokes.
