January 19, 1983 - The Petersburg city council gave up the fight Monday night to use repair money for Main Street which was designated for Mitkof Highway from the ferry terminal to Scow Bay.
“I think it would be prudent to stop blackmailing the state,” City Manager Rich Underkofler told the city council at their meeting Monday.
“The posture we have had in the past was to move forward and force the state to comply and listen to our wishes,” Mayor Don Koenings said. “I think it would be the recommendation of the city manager and the DOT to cease this pressure, and they will accommodate us this coming legislative session by making sure that the Legislature take care of main street.

January 9, 2003 - Inter-island Ferry Authority chair Dewey Duvall and budgeting and accounting manager Dolores Owen were present for the Council’s unanimous vote on Resolution #1707 Monday night, granting the IFA a $500,000 credit line at 4 percent interest from the city. The loan must be repaid by 2005.
