“We did a very nice job of passing the basketball and taking care of it,” Head Coach Dino Brock stated. “This was overall one of our better efforts and we shot the ball well.”

According to Brock the Lady Vikings had a great night for rebounds and had eight shots for three points each.

Leading the team in scoring was Grace Weller with 16 points followed by Ruby Brock with 13 points, Kylie Wallace with 12 points, Sierra Streuli brought in six points. Jael Swanson and Kyla Willis had five points each with Swanson making eight rebounds as well and Fran Abbott came in with two points.

“The scoring was really spread out,” Brock said. “There was a great balance with the team.”

The game Saturday evening was slightly different with the Lady Vikings losing 26 to 46.

“The score of the game doesn't truly reflect the game itself,” Brock stated. “We struggled a bit scoring, but we did a great job defensively.”

Brock also explained that Sitka did a good job defensively and their half-court defense was really good.

Wallace led the Lady Vikings in scoring for the game with 14 points followed by Willis with six points and Weller, Streuli and Abbott bringing in two points each.

“There was quite a bit of difference in scoring between the two days but overall it was a good weekend and I was really happy with the way we played,” Brock stated. “We took care of the basketball and we did a nice job rebounding. It was a good weekend.”

The Lady Vikings will travel to Sitka this weekend to play the Lady Wolves once again.

“There shouldn't be a lot of secrets when we play them this weekend,” Brock said. “The girls are excited to play again.”
