The new Petersburg Public Library roof is almost complete and the real work has begun on the inside of the building.
“We should be finished with the sprinkler system by the end of the week,” Petersburg Borough On-Site Construction Administrator Dan LaForce said. “And windows should be ready to install next week.”
Walls are being constructed for the different rooms on the inside and the yellow cedar columns are in place in the entryway.
“We still have to finish the roof on the very front of the building,” LaForce said. “But it is dried in right now.”
The sounds of saws, hammers and drills can be heard all across the site and everyday it gets a little closer to completion.
“We are still on schedule with the project,” LaForce stated. “We aren't having any problems in that department.”
He also explained that he has a great group of people to work with on this project.
“They are a hardworking bunch of guys,” he stated. “That makes the whole project move along better.”
