Elderberry keepsake created
The crew of the USCGC Elderberry received a Cat’s Meow in recognition for its decades of service to Southeast Alaska. Clausen Museum board member Grant Trask presented the Cat’s Meow to the Skipper Dan Burke of the Elderberry, on Tuesday, March 5.
The 65-foot buoy tender has called Petersburg home since 1954, and is the second oldest commissioned ship in the Coast Guard. Cat’s Meow wooden keepsakes are created by The Cat’s Meow Village in Wooster, Ohio. “The board chose the Elderberry because it’s been in Petersburg for close to 50 years,” said Sue McCallum, Director of the Clausen Museum. The USCGC Elderberry Cat’s Meow collectible is now available at the museum gift shop.
