Community Foundation grants for local nonprofits
The Petersburg Community Foundation, an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation, will open its competitive grant cycle March 7. The total grantmaking budget for the 2013 competitive grant cycle is $9,000. Grant awards will be made to a minimum of three (3) organizations, based on the eligible applications received. Applications must be submitted online by the deadline: April 18 at 9:00 PM. The Foundation will announce grant recipients at their annual donor event on May 18.
Local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or equivalent organizations with projects for community-wide benefit are encouraged to apply. Equivalent organizations may include schools, churches, local government agencies and programs within the Petersburg area. The Petersburg Community Foundation’s mission is strengthening our community through effective philanthropy and civic engagement. Since its inception in 2008, the Foundation has grown a permanent endowment to over $363,000 through the generosity of local donors. The endowment has supported 17 competitive grants to Petersburg-area organizations totaling $18,000.
