AMHS: Thanks for celebrating

To the Editor and

Mayor Jensen:

I would like to extend a sincere thank you for helping us make the Petersburg community celebration for our 50 Anniversary a great success. Many people came to help celebrate and it was indeed an honor to welcome a very large group of Petersburg citizens to the Malaspina to enjoy the Leikerring dancers, the beautiful handmade cookies, dignitary speeches and thank you exchanges. It was wonderful to see so many members of the community enjoying dinner in the ship's cafeteria and participating in the kid's games on the car deck. The fireworks and light display sendoff was just incredible. I had many people comment that Petersburg was the highlight of the Golden Voyage.

My staff and I would also like to thank those who contributed their time and assistance in making this event possible and very memorable; Sally Dwyer, Petersburg Chamber of Commerce; Leikerring Norwegian Dancers; your talented bakers and explosive technicians.

We would greatly appreciate your assistance in recognizing the time and effort put forth by these people and organizations.

AMHS certainly appreciates our community partners and the important role they play. We look forward to working with you in the years to come as we continue to strive to provide the transportation service which we know is so vital for our Southeast communities.
