PIE Thanks

To the Editor:

We would like to thank Island Flowers for their generous donations during Teacher/staff appreciation week (May 6-11). The teachers and staff all received a lovely tulip with a message attached. We would also like to give a huge thank you to Danya Davis for coming in during that week to give much needed chair massages. It was a great treat. We appreciate all the teachers and staff and those who helped make that week a success.

Petersburg in the running

To the Editor:

I read in the Juneau Empire that Petersburg is in the running with Seattle to be named the Number 1 yachting community in the United States. And, here I thought Petersburg was a fishing community. Seems like we need to improve our harbors, not for the fishermen, but for the yachting elite. Hmmmmm.

Thank you

To the Editor:

It is always so wonderful to see the generosity of our community to our non-profit organizations. June 21st was the Clausen Museum's “Summer Solstice 100 for $100” fundraiser. Many generous friends joined in to help the museum raise some funds by attending our auction and by purchasing our raffle tickets.

I want to thank Alaska Airlines for donating two tickets to anywhere they fly with no restrictions. The museum raised five thousand dollars with this raffle.

I want to thank each and every donor of art for our silent auction. Because of your donations we raised over four thousand dollars. This money will be put to good use and help us keep the doors open and programs running.

I want to thank Lee’s Clothing and Petersburg Rexall for being raffle ticket sellers for us. They put in many hours selling tickets and keeping track of money for all of our organizations. I am in awe of the generous nature of all of you wonderful people.

I also want to thank the patrons who attended our fundraiser. Your support for the museum is seen throughout the year and especially at our fundraising events. Your financial contributions are the backbone of the museum and we appreciate your continued support through the years.

Without all of you, our community would not be as warm and wonderful as it is. Thank you all so very much.
