July 12, 1913 – Last Tuesday, the Pacific Coast and Norway Packing Company started the cannery running with nine thousand salmons. The next day, another load of five thousand was brought in and all from the same trap. Before this, on account of delay in preparing the machinery, the fish amounting to several thousands was carried to other canneries, but from now on, the company will take care of all the fish which may be brought to the cannery.
