September 10

Harlan Freeman appeared before Magistrate Burrell on a charge of Unlawful Retention of Undersized King Salmon. The defendant entered a guilty plea. The court sentenced Freeman to pay a $500 fine, $150 restitution, $10 in surcharges and to forfeit the fish.

September 9

The court issued a 20-day stalking order against Lisa Wallen on behalf of Julia Brusell. The court denied the same order against Shirley Lee on behalf of Brussell.

September 4

In the case involving State v Kate Einerson, Einerson appeared before Judge Carey on charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 2nd and 4th degrees. Einerson entered a not guilty plea and requested a jury trial. The defendant was released on a $5000 cash only bail with a 3rd party 24-hour sight and sound custodian.

Courtney Haerling appeared before Magistrate Burrell on two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree and driving without a valid license. A public defender was appointed. The court set bail at $5000 cash only performance bond with specified conditions of release.

Bret A. Martinsen appeared before Magistrate Burrell on charges of Driving Under the Influence. The defendant entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 suspended and 72 hours to serve, was fined $1,500 with other surcharges totaling $505. Martinsen’s driver’s license was revoked for 90 days and he was placed on probation for one year.

August 30

Janvier Niyonsaba appeared before Magistrate Burrell on charges of Criminal Trespass in the 2nd degree. The defendant entered a guilty plea. The court sentenced him to ten days in jail with six days suspended, a $500 fine with $500 suspended, surcharges of $200 and probation for one year.

Manette Hogue appeared before Magistrate Burrell requesting a long-term domestic violence protective order. The court denied the protective order request, stated the case involved child custody issues.

August 27

Jeremy J. Leonard appeared before Magistrate Burrell on charges of Disorderly Conduct. The defendant entered a not guilty plea. The court set a trial date and conditions of release.

Erik P. Landa appeared before Magistrate Burrell on charges of driving while license was cancelled/suspended/revoked and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance.The defendant entered a guilty plea to driving while license was cancelled/suspended/revoked. District Attorney Polasky dismissed the Misconduct charge. The court sentenced Landa to 45 days in jail with 45 days suspended, revoked license for 90 days, 80 hours of community service, $150 in surcharges and one year probation.

August 28

Llamas and Ocegueda-Felix appeared before Magistrate Burrell for a dissolution hearing. The court granted the dissolution.

August 22

Kristinn Thorsteinson appeared before Magistrate Burrell on charges of Failure to Report Accident and Negligent Driving. The defendant entered a plea of no contest for both charges. The court issued a suspended imposition of sentence with $650 in fines, $60 in surcharges and one-year probation.

Fernando Robles-Trujillo appeared before Magistrate Burrell on charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance. The defendant entered a plea of no contest. The court sentenced the defendant a $200 fine and $100 in surcharges.

August 21

Mildred Dyne appeared before Magistrate Burrell to petition for a change of name. The court recommended to Judge Carey to change name to Mildred Sterling.

Jeremy Schouweiler appeared before Magistrate Burrell to charge of Driving while License Cancelled/Suspended/Revoked. The defendant entered a plea of no contest. Magistrate Burrell sentenced Nicholas C. Hendry, after the defendant plead guilty to a reduced charge of 4th degree Assault, to 145 days in jail with 105 days suspended, other conditions and 18 months probation.

Bret Martinsen appeared before Magistrate Burrell on a charge of Driving Under the Influence. The defendant entered a plea of not guilty. The court set a hearing and the defendant was released upon conditions.

July 8

Todd Lappetitio was in custody on charges of Assault in the 4th degree of a police officer, Indecent Exposure and Disorderly Conduct. The defendant was held in abeyance pending resolution in prior case.
