Head Coach Dan Van Swearingen said the team as a whole was much more aggressive last weekend than in their first tournament of the season.

"We were punishing some of our opponents," Van Swearingen said. "I like to see that."

DJ Toyomura beat a returning region champion and pinned him in the first round.

Billy Ware walked through his final 14-1.

The coach said two of his better wrestlers didn't attend the tournament.

The coach said his team is progressing well and he looks forward to the rest of the season.

"We're one of the best teams out there," Van Swearingen said.

The Vikings next meet is in Craig next weekend.
