Lady Vikings take first in Little Norway Tournament

The Lady Vikings blew the competition away last weekend during their first games of the season.

The girl's squad beat Thorne Bay Friday evening 51-12.

Grace Weller scored 17 points and Kyla Willis scored 8.

"It was a great all around game," Head Coach Dino Brock said. "It was very balanced scoring."

The Lady Vikings beat Haines Saturday morning 51-30.

Kylie Wallace was the high scorer with 20 points.

The squad finished the tournament with a win against Cordova.

Weller led with points, scoring 16. Wallace scored 15 points.

"Everybody was impressed with how we played, how well we moved the basketball," Brock said. "It was a good way to start the season.

Brock said the girls took hold of the games early on and maintained a lead throughout.

Wallace and Weller made the all-tournament team.

Wallace also won the 'hot shot' contest.

The girls and boys team travel to Anchorage January 2-5 to play in the Anchorage Christian School tournament.
