New art on the walls

Orin Pierson / Petersburg Pilot

Two new paintings by local artist Doris Olsen were installed over the weekend in the kid's room of the Petersburg Public Library. Olsen steadily worked on the two large pieces for several months. The hundred hours of fine detail work can be especially appreciated by looking closely at the four-panel blueberry bush hanging on the east wall of the kids room. The other piece, partly shown above, is huge and depicts an octopus and humpback whale in bright colors.
