Internationally renowned folk musician to perform in Wright Auditorium

Award winning singer-songwriter Ruth Moody will be performing in Petersburg at the Wright Auditorium Thursday at 7 p.m.

Moody is on tour promoting her new album "These Wilder Things" which came out last spring. The album's sounds contain elements of gospel, bluegrass and Irish folk music.

Moody is a multi-instrumentalist from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was the founding member of the Billboard-charting trio The Wailin' Jennys and lead singer of the Canadian roots band Scruj MacDuhk, which later became The Duhks.

Moody will be bringing her acclaimed band including Adrian Dolan on fiddle, mandolin, viola, mandola, accordion, and vocals; Adam Dobres playing electric and acoustic guitars, ukulele, vocals; and Sam Howard on upright bass and vocals.

The Petersburg Art's Council helped organize the event.

Petersburg is the second stop on Moody's tour. After leaving town she'll be performing in Juneau, Haines, Skagway, Valdez and Anchorage.
