Alaska Commercial Contractors are ahead of schedule renovating Stedman Elementary. Petersburg School District Maintenance Supervisor Dan Tate said four classrooms, the library and three front offices are nearly complete at the front end of the building. "They're going to take this weekend off because they are ahead of schedule," Tate said. "They're waiting for the rest of the teachers to depart the building." The last teacher leaves June 5 when the contractor will begin demolition on the back side of the school.
