Major improvements at Outlook Park

Phase one of the Outlook Park renovation is almost done, said Parks and Recreation Director Donnie Hayes. Grounds keeper Jesse O'Conner should have the last of the planting done this week. Phase one wraps up when an order of bark arrives in the coming weeks and is placed around trees and plants. Phase two of the project picks up again next year with the renovation of the old pump station into a restroom as well as the installation of barbecues and benches. Hayes said $2000 was donated by local businesses and community members which allowed for the purchase of more materials and plants, over the department's $5,000 budget.
