Baseball seasons ends for Vikings at regionals

Though a hand injury kept Bell from playing in the Vikings' final games of the season, he played for the majority of the season as a starting pitcher and top hitter for the team.

The Petersburg High School baseball team ended their season with two losses in the Region V double-elimination tournament held in Juneau last weekend.

The Vikings faced off against number four seed Thunder Mountain on Thursday in the opening game of the competition. PHS previously beat Thunder Mountain in two of three games played at home, but in game one of the tournament, Vikings' fielders struggled with routine defensive plays, while the Falcons capitalized on those errors, winning 12-0.
