Petersburg Police apprehended Malachi Garrett, 35, a fugitive from justice in two states, after arresting him on charges of DUI on October 17.

"During a subsequent records check, police learned Garret was a fugitive from justice and that he was wanted in the States of Louisiana and Texas on two outstanding arrest warrants," states a Petersburg Police press release. "The warrant from Louisiana was issued after Garrett failed to comply with conditions of probation related to an original conviction of Vehicular Homicide."
