Pacific Queen aground

Early Saturday morning the Pacific Queen ran onto the beach near Frederick Point. Donald Sperl aboard the Saga attempted to pull the grounded vessel off the shoreline at high tide that morning, but was unsuccessful. Skipper Eugene Lee and a crew-member secured the vessel with lines and with the help of the tender Afognak were able to pull the vessel off the beach and tow it back to the harbor on the evening high tide. The vessel sustained minimal hull damage. Cause of the grounding was not stated.
