August 5, 1916 – Work on Petersburg Scow Bay road is to be started as soon as a crew of men can be assembled.

W.F. Pendergast, who is to have charge of the work, accompanied by James Joyce, arrived Thursday from Juneau.

Not finding very promising prospects of getting a crew here, Mr. Pendergast wired to Juneau for sixteen men.

Mr. Pendergasdt had charge of the work done on the road last year.

It is said that the road commission plans to have the project complete this season.
