During freezing weather this week, contractors used plastic sheeting to keep the Borough Administration building up to temperature so the front sidewalk could be poured and work on the membrane roof installation could continue. According to Public Works Superintendent Karl Hagerman, contractors have a little more than a month to complete the downstairs police department renovation that includes new 911 dispatch consoles and new furnishings. Hagerman estimated it could take a full month to move the department next door. By mid-February, workers would return to begin demolition of the old station and to build the new sallyport that will be able to accommodate two vehicles. The remodeling of the 17,500 sq. ft. Borough building carries a $6.3 million price tag.
