August 10, 1917 – The council met and adjourned for lack for quorum Monday and Tuesday evenings. On Wednesday evening all were present, except Councilman Jorgenson, who was out of town. Considerable time was devoted to discussion of Ordinance No. 42, prohibiting the carrying of intoxicating liquors to houses of ill-repute and also making it a misdemeanor for inmates of such houses to appear upon the streets within the corporate limits of the town. The matter was finally deferred to future meeting pending further legal advice.
