The Beat the Odds cancer awareness organization in Petersburg raised nearly $2,300 in extended donations after three events last weekend, said Michele Parker, its committee chair. Forget Me Not Tollers, a Norwegian folk painting event, raised $1,290. A bake sale by employees with Wells Fargo raised $650, and Hillary Whitethorn's KOKOON show raised $347. Photographed are, from left, Kate Thompson, Marketa Ith and JoAnn Day. They were three of about 150 participants in the run and walk race organized by Beat the Odds on Saturday. The donations generated by the race were not counted as of Wednesday.
