Crystal Mountain views

Ola Richards / Petersburg Pilot

Crystal Mountain, the highest mountain on Mitkof Island at 3,317 feet, is a strenuous hike which can be climbed using two routes. One is from the hatchery following the water pipe line; the other is from Snake Ridge Road, which is the shorter route. In the foreground at the top of the mountain is Crystal Lake; directly behind it is Blind Slough and the other body of water is the Wrangell Narrows.
