About 15 people gathered at Banana Point on Sunday for the unveiling of a memorial remembering the four people who died in a car crash on Mitkof Highway in July of last year. In the SUV were Wrangell citizens Siguard Decker, 21, and Helen Decker, 19, Petersburg resident Ian Martin, 29, and 37-year-old Dennis Lord of New York. A similar memorial event was held the day before on Saturday in Wrangell. Friends and family of Sigurd and Helen, as well as other community members, gathered for a Celebration of Life, according to the Wrangell Sentinel. The family of Sigurd and Helen then scattered the siblings' ashes at the Wrangell Mariners' Memorial.
