Firelight Gallery in downtown Petersburg hosted a reception for local artist Cindi Lagoudakis Friday night. The gallery walls were covered with fifty new works by Lagoudakis who has recently focused on linocut and gelatin plate printmaking. "I like the physicality of the carving," said Lagoudakis. Through printmaking, repurposing, layering, and collaging, Lagoudakis produces richly textured works that convey her impressions of the landscape and its inhabitants.
