On April 17 Petersburg High School math teacher Tom Thompson and Stedman Elementary School paraprofessional Marketa Ith ran with over 30,000 other runners representing more than 100 countries, in the 127th Boston Marathon. They completed the 26.2 miles in 04:27:07 and 03:51:03 respectively. Students in Mary Midkiff's fifth grade class cheered on their beloved Miss Marketa while watching a live stream tracker show her progress from Hopkinton to Boylston Street.
