Last week the Petersburg High School drama program, directed by PHS English teacher Elsa Wintersteen, impressed audiences in Wright Auditorium with two performances of "The Birds," a comedy written in 414 B.C. by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes. Peisthetaerus, sophomore Martha Midkiff, center, lays out his plan for the City of the Birds to Euelpides, left, and King Tereus, right, played by freshmen Canek Elias-Sosa and Payton Dreisbach respectively.
