Dredging of the North Boat Harbor basin began Tuesday as S & S Contractors of Sitka began work. Harbormaster Glow Wollen commented, “ It’s pretty exciting to see this action after 20 years of planning... this is a significant "high point" of my day...” Dredge spoils will be transported to the Alaska Marine Lines terminal, transferred to Rock-n-Road trucks and hauled to the baler facility site for disposal.
