Petersburg's own Mitkof Mummers Theatre Company performed their melodrama Shipwreck on Cannery Island over Mayfest weekend on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights along with a Sunday matinee in Wright Auditorium. The play told the story of a boatfull of vikings and their captive nuns who unwittingly travel through time to an early twentieth century fishing community where they encounter all kinds of hijinks. Pictured above, The cannery manager Harriet Hirestaff (Irene Littleton, right) can't contain her disgust as she gets a whiff of drunken cannery worker Grunt's (Cindy Marden) powerful breath as Grunt declares, "You can't fire me cause I quit! I'm outta here."
