Chris Allen led PHS students Tolin Eddy, Daniel Holmberg and Nathaniel Lenhard, hired by Parks and Rec using the Alaskans for Litter Prevention and Recycling grant, on a monthlong litter pickup around Mitkof Island. Along with the usual bottles and cans they found more interesting litter, including an old desktop computer and a bumper. One spot that required their frequent attention was the nature boardwalk between the elementary school parking lot and 8th Street.
