Photos from: Magnitude 7.9 quake in gulf causes little scare

This US Geological Survey map indicates where Tuesday morning's earthquake took place, as well as its outward impact. Occuring about 12 miles below the surface of the Gulf of Alaska, the 7.9 magnitude tremor sparked a tsunami alert across much of the state's southern coastline.
