After separating the seal blubber from the seal meat the blubber is put into a hot pot of oil to fry and crisp up, like a pork rind and is considered a delicacy. Mike Jackson and Ruth Demmert of Kake imparted their wisdom to avoid cooking seal inside due to the odor.
