Rae C. Stedman Elementary School unveiled a totem pole as a door post to education last Thursday. On the pole is a killer whale and atop sits a bald eagle. The killer whale was carved by hand by recent Petersburg High School graduate George Skeek and the bald eagle was carved with a chainsaw by Denny Leak of Wrangell. Cyndy and Chris Fry donated the cedar log and assisted with the installation. From left to right: Denny Leak and Cyndy Fry. Skeek was not present at the ceremony.
