    June 13, 1919 A special election will be held by the citizens in Petersburg for the purpose of ascertaining their wishes regarding the bonding of the town. It is proposed to ask Congress to allow the town to bond itself for the purpose of raising money to build a hydro-electric plant and to build a new modern school house.     Women, 29 years old and under, with limited or no access to health care can get exams and reproductive health services on a sliding scale at the Petersburg Public Health Center’s Woman’s Health Clinic, June 24 - June 26.The clinic will offer exams and reproductive health services, as well as STD testing.     June 6, 1919 That the Masters and Pilots Association has unanimously endorsed the project to dredge Wrangell Narrows is the word brought to Petersburg by Captain Charles Glascock and Pilot Howard Bulenne, of the steamer Admiral Watson. June 2, 1944 Earl Watterworth has been in town for a few days inspecting the local Coast Guard Auxiliary unit.     One time the Odin came across a dead or almost dead killer whale so the crew towed it into Red Bluff Bay. At high tide they towed it further into the bay and using old purse line, they pulled it as high into the drift logs as possible and tied it down good.
