    A group of Petersburg golfers seized the day last weekend as three teams from the borough took the top spots at the Bobs’ IGA 9-hole scramble at Muskeg Meadows Golf Course in Wrangell. The team of Randy Littleton and George Woodbury won the event on Saturday, May 19 after shooting a net score of 28(-8) on the par-36 course. Fellow Petersburg residents Ray Pederson and Rodney Littleton took the top score on Sunday with a net score of 26(-10).     Kupreanof resident Doug Leen first observed this moose swimming across the Narrows from Petersburg to Kupreanof last Thursday morning. “It reached the shoreline on my property (old Merriam place) and walked about a bit but was spooked back into the water.     May 19, 1982 - With a six-day halibut opening in Area 2 drawing to a close on Monday, local processors reported that they were still receiving mainly shipments from smaller boats fishing close to Petersburg and that it was too early to determine the overall success of the halibut season.
